I just heard that one of my early readers, Dustin Moore, 14, of Greene, Maine, attended a "Leadership in Training" camp at Camp Susan Curtis this past summer. A junior camp counselor, Dustin selected "Billy Boy, the Sunday Soldier of the 17th Maine" for the evening's campfire read. He said his 8-9 year-olds were an attentive and enthusiastic audience.
